Investing In Your Child: Read!

"How come my friend's children speak so well for their age!?"

Ah.. it seems that you can't help but spend a good deal of time, either extolling the virtues of your child, or deflecting the topic away from the shortcomings of your child.

It's rough to be a parent, especially if you are competitive and need to show to the world that you are better in some way.

Let me just say... it is hard enough for most children, you shouldn't add that extra pressure onto your child. Having said that... how DOES my friend's child speak so well for their age!?

Those Word World Toys! Gotta Love Them!

Those Word World Toys! Gotta Love Them!

My daughter and I have been watching alot of this computer generated cartoon called, WordWorld. What we really like about the series is that all of the characters are highly approachable, the show really emphasizes how letters go together, it's a strong recurring theme!

To top it off, there are even little mini lesson/stories that branch off from the word concept. Some examples:

  • Learning to not judge people by their appearance: [amazon title
  • Learning the value of both big and small(upper/lowercase): Piggies on the moon.
  • Learning to forgive: The Log in the pond episode.

Overall, I really like the show and my current favorite character has got to be Sheep! I love her role playing with her different hats. And I have to say, every now and then, I have to admit, it's alot easier to play another role when you've got a hat to help you out!

My daughter goes gaga over WordWorld and I think parents looking for something wholesome for their children to watch... and toys to play with, I wholeheartedly recommend the videos and the plush toys!
